The Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES) offers young, unmarried male candidates an opportunity to join the army as officers after completing their 10+2 education in science.
Eligibility:
Education : Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), achieving a minimum aggregate of 70%.
Age : Candidates should be between 16.5 and 19.5 years old.
Selection Process:
1. Shortlisting : Candidates are shortlisted based on their 10+2 PCM percentage.
2. SSB Interview : Shortlisted candidates are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which includes psychological tests, group tasks, and a personal interview.
3. Medical Examination : Candidates who clear the SSB interview must pass a medical examination.
Training:
Pre-Commission Training : Selected candidates undergo a total of 5 years of training, starting with 1 year of Basic Military Training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), followed by 4 years of engineering training at a recognized institution.
Post-Commission Training : After successfully completing the training, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army.
